Name:  Max or Maxel (accent on the first syllable)

Date of Birth:  I'm a rescue so I'm not telling exactly, but I'll say I'm around 11.

Breed:  Cairn Terrier

Location:  Arlington, VA

Human Pet:  Marianne, my Mom and Hans, my Dad

Favorite Toy or Hobby:

I don't play with toys, I've got a JOB to do!  I alert Mom and Dad to any noise, car doors slamming across the street, kids outside, the UPS truck when it just drives by, and the evil MAILMAN!  My bark is very LOUD, everyone is surprised that I'm just a little guy.  I also bark when one of the cats walks into the room, sometimes I'll jump right off the sofa or bed, it's imperative to let Mom and Dad know!  I also hate the broom and swiffer, no dilly-dallying, I go right up with a high growl and bite those suckers, they're MOVING!

Human Peeve:

Black shoes.  If someone other than my Mom and Dad are in my territory with black shoes, I nip at their feet.  I don't like black boots in particular.

Favorite Story About Yourself:

When I met my Mom and Dad at the shelter, I knew they were the ones.  They weren't so sure about me because I was barking a lot in the kennel and I'm pretty loud.  We went to a small meeting room, Mom knelt down and I put my paw on her knee and looked up at her with my brightest button eyes.  That did it, they were smitten.  Then when we went outside to the fenced in area, I squeezed under the fence to show my agility.  They were totally in love with me by that point.  That was a great day because I now live the high-life, I've got the greatest parents ever!!

Greatest Achievement (Personal or Professional):

I can hold a beg posture (Mom and Dad call it the tripod pose) for over 3 minutes without going down on all fours.

Best Trick You Ever Played On Your Human:

Maggie, the cat, got Mosby, the cat, to knock over the full trashcan in the kitchen when Mom and Dad were out and there were a lot of corncobs.  I ate every corncob in there and then I acted innocent.  When they came home, it took them a while to figure out why there were dead corncobs all over the living room floor.  But when they saw my poop over the next couple of days, I think they knew!!
